Arrive in Bangalore | Drive from Bangalore to Mysore (143 km/approx. 3 hours) Meals: No Meal

Arrive in Bangalore and embark on a road journey to Mysore – the 'City of Palaces'. Mysore, located at the Chamundi Hills, was the former capital of the Wodeyar rulers. Boasting of rich heritage in its numerous lavish palaces, old temples, rich flora and fauna, placid lakes and blooming gardens, Mysore is a perfect destination for tourists with eclectic tastes. This place is aptly called the 'Sandalwood City' as it is a big exporter of sandalwood, jasmine and rose incenses and oil, and a wide range of sandalwood, rosewood, ivory and teak carvings and furniture. The city is also popular for its magnificent Dasara Festival that is celebrated in the months of September/October for 10 days. The entire city becomes extremely colourful and vibrant during this time. On the last day of the celebration, grand processions are taken out on the streets that are headed by caparisoned elephants, camels and horses. En route, visit Srirangapatnam, the erstwhile capital of Tipu Sultan. Around 14 km from Mysore, this place has many historical monuments related to him. The most-frequented tourist attractions here are Daria Daulat Palace, Masji-e-Ala or Juma Masjid and Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary. On arrival in Mysore, check-in at the hotel and relax for some time. Covering 80.13 acres of area, this place is home to some rare wildlife species like Indian rhinoceros, chimpanzee, sun bear, binturong, white peafowl, grey langurs, zebra, red ibis, baboons and kangaroos. In the evening, proceed to the alluring Brindavan Gardens. Positioned at the base of the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam, built across the Cauvery River, this site is laid out in the form of terrace gardens. Numerous swirling fountains, illuminated by colourful lamps, dancing on pleasant music is a sight to behold in the evening. Drive from Mysore to Kodaikanal Meals: Breakfast
